Iay prys amours, Henry VIII book
Cantus is very close to the Cantus parts of the two pieces in the Odhecaton called "Jay pris amours", but the other parts are different. The Bassus is a the most challenging line to play.
With sorowfull syghs and grevos payne
Passage near the end of the bassus doesn't quite make rhythmic sense. Dotted minim + minim should be two minims? Dotted minim + crotchet? Not yet clear.
My love she morneth for me
Cantus waits for a very long time to enter. Effectively a solo followed by a duet. Many verses.
Can treat lower part as a canon, with second voice entering at the signum.
Downberry down now am I
Round in three voices
Aboffe all thynge now let us synge
Round in three voices?
Who so that wyll hym self apply
Worth having a degree of flexibility about how long the final notes in phrases are.
Wants to be quite sprightly.
